During my medical career, I often came across patients who had symptoms that could not be diagnosed or alleviated with the help of traditional medicine. As a physician eager to help such patients, I often faced a roadblock and felt helpless. I then came across functional medicine recently, and it opened a whole new avenue in my approach to patients with such constellation of seemingly unconnected symptoms.

Initially, I was skeptical of functional medicine because of stigma usually attached to alternative treatments in the medical community. However, delving deeper into the scientific approach utilized by functional medicine to delve deep into the actual cause of systemic illness, it made more and more sense that this is missing approach to treat these patients with difficult to diagnose symptoms.

I then came across Garric Vosloo and was impressed with his depth of knowledge and passion in this field of medicine. I began learning with him and although it took valuable time out of my busy schedule with work and family, the desire to help more patients kept me driven to learn more.

I began implementing my knowledge of functional medicine in the clinic, starting to coach my patients to help them take control of their health by modifying their environmental factors including diet and stress. However, given time constraints in my busy clinic, I decided to help such patients in a different and focused environment.

Given my background as a cancer specialist, I developed a special interest in helping patients at high risk of cancers, specially colon cancer, reduce their risk using knowledge and practice of functional medicine.
